African Emissions Trading is a company that provides alternative energy solutions to South African home owners, small business owners and corporate companies. Who is African Emissions Trading and what is our dream? Our business can only be explained by understanding a bit of the bigger picture, specifically when it comes to the power situation in South Africa. This picture involves Alternative Energy, Carbon Credits and a combination of how these become one. Alternative Energy: South Africa is in a Power Supply crisis. Power demand is rising and there are not enough power plants to supply the power we all need. Because of this, Eskom is implementing "load shedding", which means that they are cutting power to certain areas, at certain periods, to lessen the huge demand on their plants. Projects to build new power plants have been approved and construction will begin in the near future. The problem is, a power plant takes 5 years to be completed, if they start construction in 2006, the plants will only be operational in 2011 – a lot of time for the power crisis to settle in and affect all of us. African Emissions Trading (Pty) Ltd has the knowledge and expertise to provide the solution, for those that feel it is essential to operate as normal, 24 hours a day, without being dependent on power supply from Eskom. The solution is Alternative Energy. With a combination of Back-up Generators, Solar Geysers, Wind Generators and Gas Appliances, your home and/or business will be able to operate independently. What do we provide? In future, we will provide a platform from which anyone will be able sell their Carbon Credits, earned by using Alternative Energy on a daily basis.
